I have been a diabetic for over 8 years. I know my lifestyle has not been the healthiest but didn’t decide to do anything about it until recently. When I saw a photo of myself holding my granddaughter it suddenly hit home like a ton of bricks. I needed to do something about it. A work mate recommended Gympie City Gym so I overcame me fears and anxiety about walking into the gym and signed up.
In the very first week, my whole life and lifestyle had changed. Suddenly I look forward to going to the gym (after only one week!). Julie taught me more in one week than I had learned from the diabetic experts, nurses, my doctor, and all the well-meaning advice from my family, friends and work colleagues.
Not only do I now understand nutrition and what and when I should be eating, my diet plan has been personalised to suit my lifestyle and my own likes and dislikes. I have not been hungry once since I started. The results after just one week are so dramatic it’s a little unnerving.
My blood sugar levels have stabilised for the first time in 8 years. For the first time since I can remember, my feet and knee don’t ache while I’m work and when I get home, my back doesn’t ache anymore and I actually feel great.
I love how Gympie City Gym staff don’t just give you a generic plan, it is individually tailored and not only did they diagnose my postural imbalances immediately, they taught me how to correct them. They take the time to explain in simple, easy to understand terminology. I feel that I am in safe hands, with extremely qualified and experienced staff.
At the risk of sounding corny, joining Gympie City Gym has definitely changed my life. I would recommend it to anyone.
